Dual lens alternating image projectors.
part 2.
Uncle Sam's DUROTONE Movie Projector and Talkie system, made by Durable Toy Corp.
Uncle Sam's Projector and Duratone Talkie System were manufactured in the 1930s by the Durable Toy and Novelty Corp of New York. The device is designed to project paper cartoons on the wall while the accompanying sound is played from a supplied gramophone record. The projector is not equipped with a focus, so it must be placed exactly at the correct distance from the wall. To play the sound a gramophone record must be placed on the turntable. It lies on a wheel that is again on a larger wheel with a crank. Each record contains two stories (one per side) and plays at a speed of 78 revolutions per minute. By rotating the crank at the side at an even speed, the film is simultaneously shown and the music played. The gramophone needle is directly connected to a kind of 'biscuit tin' that serves as a loudspeaker.
The dimensions of this projector are approximately 28 x 18 x 23 cm. The device can also be transformed into a 'movie tracer' using a tripod that was sold separately. The figures from the cartoons could then be projected onto a sheet of paper and covered. For this the sound part can be taken off.

The films used are Duratone / King Features Films.
The box, which contains six rolls of films, is 16.5 x 14 x 2.5 cm in size.

Mickey Mouse Movie Jecktor.

Made of heavy gauge metal, nickel plated trim. These projectors are designed for use with paper film rolls, playing time 2 minutes. Top of body has a full colour decal featuring Mickey Mouse. The projector measures circa 18 cm x 25 cm and is 13 cm tall. Plugs into ordinary light socket.

The box in which the Movie Jecktor was packaged, On the bottom and top it is recommended to cut out the bottom and keep it because the complete instructions and a list of films are printed on it.

A much more luxurious and extended model was the Talkie Jecktor. This device was provided with a gramophone record player, on which records with sound belonging to the filmstrips were played. Clockwork motor, electric lighted.

It appears that many Movie Jecktors have been produced on which a Talkie Jecktor sticker has been stuck. We can speak here of a grave manufacturing fault.

Spanish dual lens projector, trade mark Jaya(?)
It seems that this projector is included in the wrong category. 'Projectors with two lenses ... huhhhh, I only see one!' When the front piece is removed, however, we see that there is a moving front piece with two lenses underneath and that this front piece moves up and down when the crank is turned. That makes that alternately one frame is projected on the screen.

These three photos clearly show that the front piece with the lenses moves up and down by an eccentric when the crank is rotated.
