Source for the images of the slides above is the American satirical magazine Scraps (1883-1910). The subject and image designs are the same as the Bamforth set 'The Motorist Scorcher' below. It seems that at least one of the sets of images has been redrawn for the slides.

is a coastal city in the North County region of San Diego County, California, United States. ...... In the 1880s a former sailor named John Frazier dug a well in the area. He began offering his water at the train station and soon the whistle-stop became known as Frazier's Station. A test done on a second fresh-water well discovered the water to be chemically similar to that found in some of the most renowned spas in the world, and the town was named after the famed spa in the Bohemian town of Karlsbad. A funny set of elongated magic lantern slides featuring two sausage sellers who briefly forgot they were on the ice.

Tommy Atkins and the bees.
 A set of 12 slides made by the rather unknown manufacturers T.J. and W.F. Piggott, England.
Although the images all have a frame containing a short rhyme, each slide has also a title.
1. Hesitancy -- To be or not to be. 2. He decides to attack. 3. But is obliged to retreat.
4. And seek shelter. 5. Discomfited -- the result. 6. His comrades search for him.
7. He is found at last. 8. But another difficulty arises. 9. He is carried to the Hospital.
10. And treated by the Doctors. 11. At last reduced by starvation. 12. Discretion the better part of valour.

The Alchemist
A set of 12 black and white magic lantern slides from an unknown manufacturer and an unknown artist. The title of this set is also uncertain. Size 8 x 8 cm.
We probably see here the man who invented the custom of setting off fireworks on New Year's Eve. The clock ticks slowly towards twelve o'clock. Exactly at that moment the man combines a liquid with the oil from his table lamp and.....a huge explosion follows, heralding the start of the new year. The man is saved, but ends up in a sick bed.
